Reason #5,692 Why Biking Is Better = No Traffic. I stopped and snapped this photo of all the cars and streetcar lined up at this red light (this is looking east along Carlton to the lights at Jarvis - just beyond this intersection and to the south is Allen Gardens), and the clear path my bike had. I love passing masses of cars like this. Yesterday, I went down Bay to Lakeshore Blvd., and zoomed down the middle of the street, through TONS of cars stuck in traffic, and knew the thrill of being a bike courier. It was lots of fun. Another sidenote here... I took this photo of the traffic and was putting the camera away when a guy came up (not the guy in the jean jacket) and yelled at me that if he was in the photo I should "fucking delete it! cut it! crop it!" I told him "sure" and then rode off. Oh, and this is one stoplight east of yesterday's photo, in case you are wondering.

who: I'm in Toronto, and I write stuff here

when: Mainly riding my bike to and from work.

how: I found a Concord Duo 1300 on ebay for $27 CDN, so I can cart it around on my bike and not worry about wrecking a pricey camera. It has no viewscreen or anything, so it's cool seeing how the pics turn out later. I sometimes borrow Tracy's Kodak CX7300, but not very often.

what: I'll try and write a little bit about what is in each photo, and where it is, for anyone from outside Toronto.
